Analysts are not that sold on Jake Ferguson for the 2025-26 season but his team Dallas Cowboys sure are as they signed the Wisconsin Badgers alum to a historic deal.

Cowboys have announced that they have extended Ferguson’s stay at the AT&T Stadium by agreeing to a four-year deal worth $52 million, $30 million guaranteed.
The 26-year-old tight end was drafted in 2022 by Dallas as their fourth round, 129th overall pick. He has been one of their indispensable player since, even making it to the 2023 Pro Bowl.

“It’s money, but it doesn’t change things,” the player said about his new contract.
“I still have to get out there and prove, and work my tail off. … I don’t wanna be anywhere else. It’s a privilege to wear this star.”

Ferguson played four years for the Badgers, finishing with 145 receptions for 1,618 yards and 13 touchdowns in 47 games. He had his best year in 2021 season when he broke Lee Evans’ program record of most consecutive games recording a reception. He was part of the All Big Ten Team that year.

Ferguson’s new contract comes at a time when the franchise are still at a cross road regarding defensive end Micah Parsons.

Cowboys VP Stephen Jones says Parsons wants to get paid and the are working on it already.
“It doesn’t change anything,” Stephen Jones said Sunday amidst calls by fans for them to compensate the two-time All-Pro member.
“We want to pay Micah too. He’s gotta want to be paid.”
