Jake Ferguson is one of the most popular former Wisconsin Badgers players in the NFL. After five years at Wisconsin, Ferguson was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round (129th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. In his first season in the NFL, Ferguson had 19 receptions for 172 yards and two touchdowns.
Last night, the Dallas Cowboys won their first playoff game since 1996. While Ferguson was not a major reason for the win, he did have one catch for 34 yards that set up another Cowboys’ touchdown.

Badgers Fans Erupt on Social Media After the Jake Ferguson Play
As one might assume, Badgers fans (while not liking the Cowboys very much) have been cheering for Jake Ferguson all year long. His catch and run elicited some great posts from Wisconsin fans on social media.

Imagine how good Jake Ferguson’s numbers would have been at Wisconsin with a competent QB

I hate that Jake Ferguson is a Cowboy. GB needs to get him.

I am not sure how plausible that last Tweet is at this point in time. In fact, it may not be plausible for a long time. The Cowboys starting tight end, Dalton Schultz, is a free agent after this season. There are some Cowboys fans who believe Schultz will go elsewhere and Ferguson will take over as the starting tight end in Dallas.
