Trae Taylor announced last month that he has narrowed down his choice of football programs to five and Wisconsin Badgers football was not among them.

The Class of 2027 prospect, rated as among the top quarterbacks from Illinois, listed Michigan Wolverines, Nebraska Cornhuskers, his home state’s very own Illinois Fighting Illini, LSU Tigers, and Texas A&M Aggies as the only ones still in the running for his football brilliance.
The Carmel Catholic standout has a total of 37 offers before listing down those five.
Wisconsin Badgers should not fret as Taylor is not closing doors to other offers.
Talking to Badger 247 Sports, he said he is still open to communicating with other programs.
“Just because I got it down to my top five, didn’t mean I was going to stop communicating with other schools,” Taylor said in the interview.
The better news is that the Badgers has been with him even before he narrowed down his list.
“For me, Wisconsin, I’ve been talking to them. We’ve been planning a trip for spring practice. I told them I was coming before I even dropped my top five.”
Wisconsin Badgers QB coach making Trae Taylor feel welcome
There’s still no timetable when Taylor will declare his commitment to a school. This means Badgers can still swoop in.
Quarterbacks coach Kenny Guiton is advancing.
In his post on X, Taylor said good things about his communication with Badgers through Guiton.
“Thank you @Evan_Flood for your time. And really enjoy my time and talks with @CoachGuiton. He and the offensive staff are doing things right there,” he said.
