Tawee Walker has moved on from the Wisconsin Badgers but analysts think they team don’t have to go that far to look for replacement for their former main running back who is now with the Cincinnati Bearcats. Badgers still got Dilin Jones and Darrion Dupree.

Between the two, Jones is the one expected to get featured more prominently in that position but warned that Dupree is not that far from him.
“Tawee Walker is gone, and Darrion Dupree is the likely starter to begin the season,” Trent Knopp of Michigan Wolverines on SI wrote last month.
“The Badgers typically have a reliable running back, and while Dilin Jones could end up being that guy, I think Dupree will hold him off.”

Knopp added that Dupree is one of those players coming into the 2025 season that can be regarded as among those who are under the radar but has the potential to breakout.
The problem with him, however, is his health.
Darrion Dupree ready to rock for Wisconsin Badgers
Dupree got injured in a practice in April after he went down on a non-contact injury. Although it was not that severe, the team still prevented him from doing intense work out and limited his participation in practices.
“I don’t think any of the injuries that we’ve had or anything [is] going to be a long-term issue,” offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes said about the injury back then.
“And so, yeah, I think we’re in a good spot.
Three months have past and Fickell confirmed that Dupree is joining them again. Not only he is healthy but he is ready to work together with Mason Reiger who also just recovered from an injury that made him miss the entire 2024 season.

“He’s good and ready to roll,” Fickell said when asked about Dupree.
“He’s been completely cleared,” he added while discussing Reiger.
“He’s done everything all summer. He’s been fully in the mix. Treat him a lot like Aaron Witt in some ways. There’s a guy (whose) body has gone through a lot of stuff. Going into fall camp, we’ve gotta be smart. I don’t want to treat some of these guys like 10-year NFL vets, but we’ve gotta be smart with some of these guys that have played some football.”
