There’s still one full month of regular season in college men’s basketball but preparing for the next one is already on the schedule of some programs, like the Wisconsin Badgers.

The Badgers are on a roll in the Big Ten conference with their three-game winning streak, boasting an identical record with overall no. 1 team Michigan Wolverines.
That’s not an excuse for them to not future proof the squad as head coach Greg Gard reveals they are already looking at the transfer portal and that some names are already talking to them.

“Our list grows by the day. It started growing by the summer. The short answer is yes. We have long long list of potentials,” Gard said when asked by The Camp hosts if they have plans on the upcoming transfer portal.
This is a welcome development for Badgers fans as the team has a number of seniors about to leave the program after using up all their eligibility years.
Among them are Max Klesmit and Carter Gilmore.
Wisconsin Badgers a target destination?
The head coach also revealed that there were talks already and that they also anticipate some players leaving.
“Quite frankly, it’s already going. It’s already bubbling. We have agents and people around. People reached out to us starting in January. I’m not naive enough to think that we’re immune to it [players leaving]. It’s just, where we are in today’s climate, you know, everybody is on a one-year window.
“Yes, we are well aware, watching and keeping tabs on the whole world.”

Last season, the team lost Chucky Hepburn, AJ Storr, and Amaun Williams to new teams after they all entered transfer portal.
