After previously adding a possible answer at tight end, the Wisconsin Badgers now have a room full of players fighting to prove themselves.
Wisconsin previously signed and brought top tight end transfer Tanner Koziol onto campus as the productive solution for the position. However, Koziol spent less than a month on campus before a falling out with the program led to the tight end joining Houston with enough time to prepare for the upcoming season.
A new tight end needed to step up, and Wisconsin added another transfer at the position in Lance Mason, a former Missouri State standout, to fill the void left by Koziol. Mason has only had a limited amount of time to get up to speed within the Wisconsin offense, however, and other internal options could be players who are forced to step up and produce.
Freshman Tight End Emmett Bork Impresses Wisconsin Badgers Staff During Early Practices

One such player is freshman Emmett Bork, an in-state former three-star recruit who has impressed the staff thus far with his raw talent and clear grasp of the playbook. Bork is a versatile, block-first tight end who possesses a massive 6-foot-5-inch, 250-pound frame that can be a difficult one to stop.
The tight end delivers strong blocks while also providing enough awareness and agility to combat speedy edge rushers when needed. While Bork has amazing size, the tight end also moves down the field and has impressed the Wisconsin Badgers staff early with his mobility at his size. As a receiver, Bork is not known for creating separation but when the tight end is able to get open, plays are consistently made down the field.
Bork also has great awareness as a receiver and ballcarrier which often leads to longer plays and extra yardage gained. The do-it-all tight end is virtually a perfect fit within the new Wisconsin Badgers offense under coordinator Jeff Grimes. Grimes prefers tight ends with bigger frames, a willingness to block, and with deceptive receiving talent.
The offense of Grimes struggles to function without blockers who are willing to get down and dirty when needed within the power scheme. Given the preferences of both Grimes and the Badgers, Bork has become the ideal fit for the position while also being arguably one of the most underrated additions via the 2025 recruiting class Wisconsin made. The tight end has impressed thus far with the staff and continues to be a bright spot for the team throughout camp.
