The Wisconsin Badgers have continued to work the state of Florida, this time turning their attention towards the offensive line.
Ryan Miret, a three-star 2026 offensive lineman, has become someone the staff is working to build a close relationship with. Miret, a Miami native, is the 43rd-ranked interior offensive lineman in the class and someone who has recently become exposed to the North. Both the Wisconsin Badgers and the Syracuse Orange have quickly become two teams working to land the talented lineman before word truly gets out.
Currently, Miret stated that the three programs closest to the recruit would be Florida, Wisconsin, and Syracuse as they all show consistent support. App State, Miami (FL), USF, and Bowling Green have also been programs that are involved with the recruit. Miret stated that App State and Miami has shown interest “since the beginning” and were some of the first programs to reach out to the recruit.
When asked about what the recruit is looking for during the process, Miret stated, “I like to keep in mind how personal they [Coaching staff members] are to me. I am definitely looking for a program that cares about my mindset on the field, but more importantly off the field with a focus on how they can better my overall approach to the game.”
Like the recent Xavier Lucas situation, the Wisconsin Badgers have worked the state of Florida hard to find the real hidden gems of the class. Enter Miret, and there is a serious athlete on the football field that happens to play the offensive line. Big men on the field are often the most talented and technical players due to the necessary agility, and Miret has all of those skills and more at the position.
What Could Ryan Miret Offer the Wisconsin Badgers, Other Collegiate Programs?
When at his best, the talented Ryan Miret is someone that can provide an extra layer of assurance that the quarterback is safe.
The offensive lineman comes in at 6-feet-3-inches, and roughly 265-pounds with an excellent combination of both strength and agility. It is incredibly difficult to catch Miret off-balance, and often, it is the opposite situation as defenders struggle to stay upright against the lineman.
When asked about his play on the field, Miret stated, “I feel that my understanding of leverage due to my involvement in an intense wrestling background throughout my life.” Miret also added that his football knowledge is “definitely” something that really separates the recruit from other players at the same position. While coach Luke Fickell has not been directly involved yet, Fickell is known to love wrestlers as a former wrestler himself, and that background could allow Miret to truly exceed.
On the field, the wrestling background can be seen as Miret has an excellent center of gravity and consistently keeps his balance against strong attacks. Miret is a difficult player to move and as mentioned his understanding of leverage allows for the lineman to often drive the opposing defender backwards.
