The Wisconsin Badgers Football coaching staff is beginning to piece together.
Newly hired head coach, Luke Fickell has brought over one of his assistant from Cincinnati as the hiring of defensive coordinator, Mike Tressel was announced by the school, this evening.

Mike Tress’ Accolades
- Led Cincinnati to a top-5 ranked defense in the nation in yards per play allowed (4.52) in 2022
- Led Cincy to the 5th ranked scoring defense (16.5ppg allowed) in the nation in 2021
- Previously coached at Michigan State
- Notable players coached under Tressel include: Ahmad ‘Sauce’ Gardner (Cincy), Bryan Cook (Cincy), Joe Bachie (MSU)
The school also officially announced the hiring of now-former North Carolina offensive coordinator, Phil Longo, who’ll join Fickell’s staff in Madison.

- Led North Carolina to ACC leading totals in passing yards, passing touchdowns, passer rating, rushing yards, and total offense in 2022
- Led UNC to the third-ranked passing offense in the nation in 2022
- Led UNC to set program records with 537.2 yards per game in 2022
- Prior to UNC run, coached at Ole Miss and Sam Houston State
- Notable NFL players coached under Longo include: AJ Brown (Ole Miss), DK Metcalf (Ole Miss), Elijah Moore (Ole Miss), Javonte Williams (UNC), Josh Downs (UNC)
