Wisconsin Badgers wide receiver Tyrell Henry appears poised to have a better season than the last one based on his performance in the training camp.

Henry, who transferred to UW from MSU in 2023, appeared in just four games last season, recording one catch for 12 yards. He is eying for an expanded role this 2025 and head coach Luke Fickell might just give him that based on the improvement he’s made since the end of the 2024 season.
Fickell said the 6’0 wide receiver has grown both mentally and physically and is even playing larger than his size.
“He’s done a phenomenal job all camp and I mean that, not just in catching balls and running,” Fickell said as quoted by Badger 247’s Nick Osen.
“I mean, you know, in traffic, putting the ball away, getting vertical, he’s shown a toughness that maybe I would joke with him, that you might not expect from a 170, 175 pound guy, but he plays above his size level.”

Competition for the Top 3 wide receiver spots has been pretty much locked up by Vinny Anthony, Jayden Ballard, and Trech Kekahuna.
Henry is not giving up even if many believe he will be the primary back up.
Tyrell Henry is ready to accept any role
Henry said the competition among them wide receivers is healthy and new WR coach Jordan Reid has been very good in setting their mentality right.
He said there’s no jealousy and everyone is ready to help each other out and be of help to the goal of the team.

As for him and his role, he said he is ready to give everything no matter where he is assigned by the coaches.
“I love the game so much, and you never want to disrespect the game,” he said.
“So, respecting the game, it is whatever football gives you, you take it and go with it. So, whatever it gave me, I was right there to take it and go. That is how my mindset was, just thinking, whatever opportunity was given, I was going to make the most of it.”
