The Wisconsin Badgers signed 6’3 De Pere Guard Zach Kinziger. He was a 4-star recruit and was ranked 68th in the ESPN Top 100.
He averaged 19.9 points on 49.9 FG and shot 42.5% from three-point range as a junior at De Pere High School. They were the Division 1 state champions in 2023.
Zach’s ability to shoot the basketball
Kinziger shot 40.9% from three-point range on the Nike EYBL. He was rated the 133rd overall prospect nationally according to Rivals.
He is one of the best natural scorers at the high school level. Does not rely on athleticism or height, just gets buckets.
With his first assist vs. Sheboygan North, junior guard Zach Kinziger eclipsed career totals of 1,000 points, 200 assists & 100 steals. He’s the just the fourth Redbird to achieve this mark, joining John Kinziger (2019-23), Brandon Pritzl (2007-10) and Kael Coleman (2003-05).
First Team All-Conference and All Defensive Team honors then came during his junior season, as did Zach Kinziger being named to the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association All-State team.
The pick of Zach Kinziger and his impact on the Badgers
Zach Kinziger is such an underrated pickup by Badgers head coach Greg Gard. He gets to the hoop when needed but shoots the lights out of the ball.
Kinziger will be an instant impact for the Badgers. Could even see him starting as a true freshman.
