The Wisconsin basketball staff currently has three 2025 recruiting class commitments, and one such commitment has boosted his rating.
Zach Kinziger, a now four-star guard from De Pere, Wisconsin, has become a serious name to watch this summer with his exceptional play. Kinziger began the summer as a three-star recruit after helping lead his team the previous high school season. After dominating this summer along the AAU circuit, Kinziger has propelled himself into position to potential earn a fifth-star this season.
De Pere Wisconsin Basketball Commitment Zach Kinziger Earns Fourth-Star
Perhaps the most coveted in-state recruit the Wisconsin basketball staff has landed is some time is guard Zach Kinziger. Kinziger, a De Pere native and basketball star, is currently ranked as a four-star recruit and the 129th recruit nationally. When the Wisconsin basketball staff originally landed a commitment from Kinziger nearly a year ago, the recruit stood as a three-star and barely made an appearance in the national rankings.
Since then, Kinziger has accomplished plenty and now holds a four-star ranking, along with the third-overall ranking in the state of Wisconsin.
What Does Kinziger Offer as a Four-Star Combo Guard Recruit?
This past season for De Pere, Kinziger recorded 19.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game for his team. The guard shot 49.9% from the field and 42.5% from beyond the arc, which helped display his incredibly accurate shooting and excellent shot intelligence. Kinziger recorded a season-high of 27 points and dropped 557 points alone during last season.
Two seasons ago, the conversation regarding Kinziger was how excellent of a scorer he was along with his rebounding ability. However, the question was his playmaking and whether or not the guard would be able to create plays for his teammates. The guard was able to prove just that this past season, increasing his assist total by 17 over the previously season in less games.
Kinziger has also proved this past season and this summer especially that he is no slouch on the defensive side of the ball either. Last season, Kinziger averaged 1.2 steals per game and recorded nearly a block per game. In three seasons, the guard has stolen the ball away 107 times, with 46 of those steals coming in one season.
Can Kinziger Potentially Earn a Fifth-Star in the Near Future?
After earning his fourth-star with his exceptional play, Kinziger now sets himself up to possible earn a fifth-star following this upcoming season. Kinziger took a major step forward this past season, raising his totals by 4.5 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game this season with two-less games. The guard certainly has the ability to make a similar jump, but the question will be whether or not it is enough for another star.
