Cornerback Nyzier Fourqurean is supposed to return to Wisconsin Badgers for a third season but that won’t happen no more as the National College Athletics Association ruled that he is not eligible to play anymore this 2025 season.

The ruling was a reversal of the preliminary injunction the NCAA released months ago that allowed him to join spring practice.
Fourqurean, who vowed to help the team this season, spent his first two college years with the Grand Valley State Lakers football of Second Division. He is hoping to play another year for the Badgers by challenging the NCAA’s “Five-Year Rule,” wherein student-athletes can only play four seasons of eligibility within five calendar years.
Head coach Luke Fickell said they are challenging the ruling and already made their appeal on the player’s behalf.
“We’re not changing college football, but this is something that can change a kid’s life,” Fickell said during a press conference at Mandalay Bay.

“This is a one (of a kind) incident. I just hope that they will sit down with him and give him an opportunity to express (himself) and look at his appeal in a different way and sees where it goes from there.”
Nyzier Fourqurean replacement named
The Badgers, of course, can’t just sit around and wait for the mercy of the NCAA.
Fickell said they are already grooming a few guys who can replace Fourqurean. These players are already showing flashes of brilliance in the last few practices.
“Omillio [Agard} is a guy that I would tell you right off the bat, has been playing over there a lot,” said Fickell.
“D’Yoni Hill is a guy that we brought in. Had him playing a bit more on the other side, but he’s a guy we’re going to have to rely upon and see how well he can do.”

A 2024 acquisition is also in the mix.
“Geimere Latimer is a guy we made a nickel just because of the situation we had. He’s another guy who could be in the mix”, Fickell added.
“Then you’ve got some of the freshman guys who have done a really good job. Nobody in today’s day and age wants to play true freshmen, but the truth of the matter is, there’s some some guys that have been here for a little while, and there’s some competition that’s going to be had, and there’s a lot to be figured out in the next 30 days.”
