Wisconsin Badgers football program are doing everything to give fans something to look forward to this new season but as per betting sites, it might be another disastrous season.
The Badgers, who recently extended the contract of head coach Luke Fickell, are predicted to miss a Bowl game again.
The 2024 season was the first time they did not make one since 2001.
Las Vegas has them winning a total of 5 1/2. They finished 5-7 last season. They’re odds are over plus-128, Under minus-158.
“In other words, Wisconsin’s implied odds to finish 5-7 or worse in 2025 are 61.2%. So while quality-based rating metrics should see improvement from the team, the win-loss record isn’t expected to change year-over-year,” Badgers Wire wrote.
This prediction suggests that Fickell’s offseason preparations won’t do much to improve their status. In his first year, the team finished with a 7-6 record and they qualified for the ReliaQuest Bowl.
The current Las Vegas odds is basically the same with the prediction they received for last season.
Wisconsin Badgers’ 2025 schedule might be the reason
Fickell has been very aggressive in recruiting and giving shape to his team that it is entering a new era after the exit of many players through the transfer portal.
However, they need talent and they are filling it out little by little. However, the schedule might be the factor that is hard to overcome.
FanSided ranked their schedule the second toughest in the Big Ten Conference, next to Rutgers.
“A trip to Alabama early in the season sets the tone for a brutal slate, with road games at Michigan, Oregon, and Indiana looming in Big Ten play. The Badgers also host Ohio State and Illinois, making this one of the toughest schedules in college football. If Wisconsin wants to get past bowl eligibilty, it will need to pull off some big wins along the way.”
