“Toughest Schedule in the Big Ten” – Wisconsin Football Expected to Miss 2025 Bowl Game According to Early Odds

After snapping a two decade long bowl streak, the Wisconsin football team is expected to extend the drought next season, according to early odds.

The Badgers suffered seven losses last season which deemed the team ineligible for a traditional bowl game, but left other doors open. Head Coach Luke Fickell shut said doors quickly after the end of the season loss, stating the Badgers would not take an academic or a substitute bowl game if given one.

The Wisconsin football bowl game record was something that had been in jeopardy multiple times in recent history, but felt like a program tradition that would not slip away.

Wisconsin narrowly avoided snapping the streak during the 2022 and 2023 season with just seven wins a piece. A pandemic shortened 2020 season saw the Badgers go 4-3 but still allowed for the team to sneak into the Duke’s Mayo Bowl, which Wisconsin went onto win.

After missing a bowl game last season the Wisconsin Badgers program is ready to finally admit there was a bit more to the rebuild Fickell has taken on and Las Vegas oddsmakers are not banking on the young coach figuring everything out during the upcoming season.

Currently Wisconsin is expected win just 5.5 games next season, which would put a bowl game into doubt despite plenty of changes occurring to both the staff and the roster. Currently the Wisconsin Badgers football team is nearly a 200-point favorite to miss going bowling during the upcoming football season.

The Wisconsin football team added both big name transfer at needed positions (Quarterback, tight end) while also adding respected coaches such as Jeff Grimes to the staff. However, the changes might not be enough to outrun perhaps one of the toughest conference and overall schedules in college football next season. Wisconsin is set to face Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Iowa, Ohio State, Oregon, Michigan, and Indiana next season to headline the schedule.

The Badgers were previously favorites to miss a bowl game last season as well, with the bet coming down to the buzzer as Wisconsin and Fickell could not get the win in the final game of the season to secure eligibility. Wisconsin had also made big additions last season via the portal and the high school class, but still did not have enough production on both ends of play to warrant a bowl game.

In other words, the Wisconsin football team will need more than an influx of talent to navigate the upcoming season and rather the program requires high-level leadership moving forward.
