Mike Morris Scouting Report
Per NFL Draft Buzz, Morris has the following strengths and weaknesses:
Strengths
- A savvy, versatile and instinctive edge rusher who did a little bit of everything, Morris was especially effective getting to the quarterback
- Has the long arms and hand strength to win at the point consistently; strong throughout the upper body and has good agility for his size
- Has the pursuit skills to stay in the action. Anticipates the snap. Country strong and very physical; seeks contact
Weaknesses
- Never out of a play, but can get out of control and work himself away from the action
- Plays high and with poor balance and power. He’ll lose ground at the point of attack, and Morris doesn’t get the full benefit of his length

Mike Morris in Mock Drafts
According to NFL Mock Draft Database, Morris is a projected third-round pick. With the number of edge prospects in this class, there is going to be value in the mid-rounds. Morris is a perfect example of a player that doesn’t warrant a top pick but will also be a great pick up in the later rounds. Below is a list of mock drafts and where they have Morris being taken.

Would Mike Morris Fit on the Packers?
Now that we have gotten to the mid-round edge prospects, I am intrigued by a lot of them on the Packers. GM Brian Gutekunst should look to improve the pass rush. If he is not able to snag a top prospect in the first round, I wouldn’t be surprised if he waits until the mid-rounds for a player like Morris.
Check Out Another Prospect That Could Fit For the Packers
What I like about Morris is his weaknesses are coachable. The Packers already play a little out of control on defense and playing high is something the Packers can coach out. Gutekunst hit on Kinglsey Enagbare in the fifth round last season and I wouldn’t be surprised if he tries to grab a later round edge in this draft as well.
