Aaron Rodgers is the big gun for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is someone reserved for the big games.

The NFL compels teams to play pre-season games before the regular seasons. Will the Steelers have their ace suit up? Rodgers said it is up to Mike Tomlin and that whatever his coach decides, he will play along.
“It’s an interesting conversation,” he told reporters on Wednesday.
“I think Mike and I have that at some point. I don’t think it’s in the plan for me to play this week, but whatever Mike wants to do, I’m fully on board.”
He is open to playing pre-season games but when it comes to the importance of it, he is not that sold.

“Preseason football is not necessarily real football because the defenses just don’t do a whole lot and the offenses don’t either,” he said.
“You (both) go out there with a very limited playbook.”
Pittsburgh Steelers pre-season schedule
Rodgers is not exactly a fan of playing hard in pre-season game but he still believes there’s something to gain from it.
There’s a play clock out here, but it’s not always adhered to,” Rodgers said.
“(In preseason games,) you have 40 seconds to call the play, to get the line in scrimmage, to get us in the right situation and to go out and do it. I think there’s something to be gained for that.”

The Steelers will play three pre-season games before the start of the 2025 NFL season.
They will be on the road this Saturday to face the Jacksonville Jaguars and then return home on August 16 to host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They will wrap up their off-season preparations with a visit to the Carolina Panthers on August 21.
Their first regular season game will be against Rodgers’ former team New York Jets.
