Patrick Beverley has been removed from an NBA stint for almost one year but his last stint, with Milwaukee Bucks, could haunt him back.

It is not for lack of success or legacy but because of the ugly incident he had with fans of the Indiana Pacers which eliminated them from the first round of the 2024 playoffs.
Fox 59 from Indianapolis reported that the two Pacers supporters have filed a lawsuit against Beverley and the Bucks for the ball throwing incident that occurred in Game 6 last year.
“In a lawsuit filed last Friday in Marion County Superior Court, two Pacers fans claim they experienced medical expenses, mental anguish, humiliation and lost wages after an incident during the 2024 matchup between Indiana and Milwaukee,” the news report said.
The team and a former assistant coach were also named in the lawsuit.
“The lawsuit names Beverley, the Bucks organization and former Milwaukee assistant coach Josh Oppenheimer as defendants. The suit stems from an incident between Beverley and the two fans during the fourth quarter of a Bucks’ 120-98 playoff loss to the Pacers on May 2, 2024.”

Oppenheimer is no longer involved with the Bucks as he is now serving as an assistance coach to NCAA Division I team Oklahoma Sooners.
PatBev’s side on Milwaukee Bucks vs fan incident
It took a year for the fans to cook the lawsuit but Beverley, who last played in Israel, has already been punished by the NBA for his act.
The league suspended him for four games although it is unclear how it was served since did not play a single game in the 2024-2025 season.
He was adamant though that he is not at fault during the confrontation.
Turning to X shortly after the incident, he said it was unfair that he was being judged harshly for the incident.

He said they were only reacting to the heckling done by Pacers fans and they asked for help from the security before he snapped.
Not Fair at all. Exchanged between a fan and our ball club all night. We warned and asked for help all night. Not fair. 🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️ https://t.co/e2o0lcqZtg

Doc Rivers was not really supporting of him.
“So we talked about that and then the ball-throwing incident,” River said. “And he made the comment to me about what was being said back his way and I just said, ‘I get it, but we’re coaches and athletes, we’re the entertainers or whatever we are, sometimes they can be in the wrong, but you just can’t do those certain things.’ And he knows that as well.”
