The Packers Sunday lost 38-10 in Tampa Bay dropping to 4-1 now on the season. It was just an all around bad game by everyone. This game was a very similar loss to the one the Packers had last year in the regular season against The 49ers in Santa Clara. These two game were both games with the Packers having an extra week to prepare. The Packers didn’t practice well this week, Coach Matt Lafleur said it “led to the play on the field”. The Bucs looked like the team that wanted it more yesterday and was more prepared. The Packers didn’t look like a Super Bowl team on Sunday after the 38-10 loss, as you will see in this recap.
Recap of the Offense
The Offense came out and scored on there first two drives of yesterdays ballgame and looked very good on that side of the ball. Then the second quarter came around when Packers QB Aaron Rodgers threw two interceptions on three pass attempts. Which really changed the whole game yesterday because they had all the momentum. One of those interceptions was Rodgers third career pick six and believe it or not his second pick six thrown in Tampa Bay in his career. The offense looked bad yesterday and the run game didn’t help that as The Packers leading rusher yesturday Jamal Willams only had 34 rushing yards. Aaron Rodgers needs to play a lot better though after having one of his worst games of his career. The Offensive line got outplayed by the Bucs front seven all day long yesterday.
Recap of the Defense
The defense started out hot like the offense starting with a three and out on the Bucs first possession. Then it was all down hill from there as Tom Brady had 166 yards passing and two touchdowns. Ronald Jones also had 23 carriers 113 yards and two touchdowns. It was just an all around bad performance by the defense. Missed tackles and blown coverages need to be cleaned up going forward because we had a lot of them yesterday. You have to give Brady credit though. He played mistake free football and that was a big key to the success that Tampa Bay had.
What’s Next?
The Packers after the horrible performance yesterday now move onto the Texans on the road next Sunday at noon on Fox. Hopefully we can get back in the win column next weekend.
