On what turned out to be a pretty eventful day for the Michigan Wolverines football program, former National Champion linebacker Michael Barrett signed with the Green Bay Packers. Barrett was the captain of the Michigan defense when they won it all last year.

The Packers had hosted Barrett for a workout yesterday.
New Green Bay Packers Linebacker Michael Barrett Is on His 4th NFL Team This Year
Barrett was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft. After going through rookie minicamp, OTA’s, and most of training camp with the team, Barrett was traded to the Seattle Seahawks.
The Seahawks cut Barrett not long after the trade, but re-signed him to their practice squad.
He did not last long on Seattle’s practice squad, though. The team released him on September 10.
The Cleveland Browns signed him a couple of days later, but Barrett was released again on October 8. He has not been on an NFL roster or practice squad since.
The Green Bay Packers Signing Michael Barrett Was Not the Biggest Michigan Story of the Day
On the same day that Barrett signed with the Packers, his alma mater defeated their biggest rival, the Ohio State Buckeyes, 13-10. The victory was quite the upset as Ohio State is ranked second in the country while the Wolverines are unranked.
It was the fourth-straight time Michigan has won the rivalry game.
The most dramatic part of the game, though, occurred after the clock hit 0:00. Several Michigan players planted the university flag at midfield. While this sounds harmless, the game was played at Ohio State.
A brawl ensued on the field that resulted in several Wolverines players being pepper sprayed by law enforcement:
