The Green Bay Packers have done a masterful job surrounding wunderkind and ascending franchise quarterback Jordan Love with young talent, building a roster capable of taking multiple bites of the Super Bowl apple.
Beginning Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, when Green Bay can play spoiler of their division rival’s bid for the no. 1 seed in the NFC, while bolstering their own playoff positioning, the Packers are one of the hottest teams in the NFL right now with legitimate championship aspirations.
Given that Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst has surrounded the 26-year-old Love with a collection of skill players with an average age of 23.5, Green Bay may just be arriving into their championship era.
Packers Super Bowl Window Revealed
As the NFL Playoffs draw nearer, Bleacher Report NFL analyst Brad Gagnon made his predictions for how many years each championship contender across the league has to make sustained runs at the Super Bowl.
Gagnon believes the Packers’ Super Bowl window is at least half a decade.
“Green Bay Packers: 3-10 more years,” Gagnon writes for B/R. “Jordan Love is 26 but somewhat injury-prone and up-and-down, but they’ve got plenty of young talent and are in decent cap shape for the coming years. The floor is high, but so is the range … Prediction: 5 years”
Gagnon’s prediction for the Packers seems pretty spot on, and is just one year shy of the six seasons he predicts for the division rival Lions.
Love is making his second postseason appearance in as many years as the Packers’ starting quarterback, and given the stability at head coach and explosive young weapons around him, Green Bay appears primed for a sustained run at success, all while Gutekunst and the front office have the opportunity to replicate the offensive blueprint on the defensive side of the ball to perhaps craft one of the most well-rounded rosters in the league.
