The Packers have the opportunity to lock up a playoff berth with a victory over the New Orleans Saints on Monday night, but even with a loss, they are all but assured a trip to the postseason.
Leading into Monday night’s showdown at Lambeau Field, the Packers have a 99 percent chance of making the playoffs, according to NFL.com, and those odds remain steady even if Green Bay would lose to the Spencer Rattler-led Saints in upset fashion.
However, that doesn’t mean that the Packers don’t have anything to play for, because where Green Bay is ultimately slotted could hinge on the outcome of Monday night’s contest.
Packers vs. Saints with Critical NFL Playoff Stakes
ESPN’s Washington Commanders reporter John Keim points out, that the Commanders not only own the tiebreaker over the Packers after Washington took down the Eagles on Sunday afternoon but also a more navigable final two regular season games.
Washington can still capture the No. 6 seed. Green Bay (10-4) currently has a half-game lead entering tonight's game vs. New Orleans. But if the Commanders and Packers tie, Washington wins the tiebreaker with a better conference record. Pack plays at Minnesota next week.

Green Bay travels to Minnesota to take on the surging Vikings in Week 17, before closing out the regular season at home against the Bears, meanwhile, Washington’s final two games come against rookie quarterback Michael Penix and the Atlanta Falcons in Week 17 before finishing at home against the Carolina Panthers.
If the regular season ended today, the Packers would be the No. 6 seed in the NFC, but may need to beat the Saints to stay in that spot.
