The Green Bay Packers entered their Week 12 matchup with the San Francisco 49ers with one thing on their mind: revenge. It was the 49ers who sent these Packers home early in the NFL Playoffs last year in a game that Green Bay feels it could have won. Indeed, San Francisco has bested the Packers in each of their four previous postseason games, a fact players, coaches, and fans know all too well.

So it was not just that Green Bay wanted to win this game. They wanted to dominate it.
And that they did, especially on the ground thanks to the incredible rushing performance of running back Josh Jacobs.
Green Bay Packers Running Back Josh Jacobs Ran All Over the 49ers Defense
While Jordan Love had a good day passing, completing 13 of 23 passes for 163 yards, two touchdowns zero interceptions, and a passer rating of 107.7, the star on offense for the Packers was Jacobs.
The former Las Vegas Raiders star ran the ball 26 times for 106 yards and three touchdowns. He became the first running back in the NFL to run over 100+ yards against San Francisco since Aaron Jones did it in Green Bay’s loss to the 49ers in the postseason last year.
Jacobs also became the first Packers running back to run for three touchdowns in a game since Jones did it against the Carolina Panthers in 2019.
His 106 rushing yards brought his season total to 944, the most by a Green Bay running back through 11 games since Ahman Green had 1,326 through 11 contests in 2003.
Jacobs’ seven rushing touchdowns are just one less than Jones had in his last three seasons in Green Bay combined.
Josh Jacobs Told Tom Brady that He Was the Missing Piece for the Green Bay Packers
As was the case last week when the Packers played the Chicago Bears, NFL legend Tom Brady was one of the broadcasters calling the game. After each game that he calls, Brady gives out his “LFG Award” to the player he thinks had the best performance.
Last week, it was Christian Watson, who had four receptions for 150 yards against Chicago. This week, he gave it to Jacobs.
During his interview with Brady, Jacobs revealed why he chose Green Bay over all of the other teams that were pursuing him in free agency.
“I felt like I was the missing piece, and I wanted to come in here and put my stamp on the @Packers.”

“Man you know, I liked what they had going on. I mean, I saw the culture that was built here. I saw the winning that was built here. I know the legacy of the Packers. I wanted to be a part of that.
“I felt like I was the missing piece, and I wanted to come here and put my stamp on the Packers.”
In a separate interview with Erin Andrews after the game, Jacobs praised Green Bay for believing in him and having a positive impact on his career.
“I mean, they believed in me. They took a chance on me. So every day I come in and try to pour everything I have into this team.”
It is certainly apparent that Jacobs loves Green Bay, and it is just as apparent that his teammates care about him.
It’s evident that Josh Jacobs’ teammates love having him in Green Bay.

As seen in the post and video above, second-year tight end Tucker Kraft told reporters that he would “do anything” for Jacobs. Center Josh Myers added that he enjoys blocking for him.
Green Bay’s new running back is certainly having a stellar season for his new team. Time will tell if he really is that “missing piece” that can deliver another coveted Super Bowl victory.
