The Green Bay Packers are lacking a true number one wide receiver. This offseason has to be the time to make a massive deal for one.
Something that plagued Green Bay all season was the lack of a true number one, and the availability of who they did have.
Jordan Love is the franchise quarterback, and there’s no question about it. In order for the Packers to stay in contention, he needs a consistent rotation.
Garrett Wilson is the name that comes to mind when considering who the Packers should get. They have the assets to trade for the New York Jets star, which could include Romeo Doubs.
Wilson, 24, has put up over 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first three seasons on three terrible Jets teams, taking home Rookie of the Year honors in 2022. Doubs, meanwhile, averages 672 yards per 17 games, and dealt with multiple concussions in the 2024 campaign.
The Packers would thrive with the addition of Garrett Wilson while maintaining the solid receiver unit they already have on payroll.
Christian Watson is sidelined with a torn ACL through at least November, the Packers need another star threat for Love to target on key downs. Wilson may be the perfect fit for Green Bay.
The Jets have struggled immensely and there has been constant speculation about Wilson wanting out to excel somewhere else. The Packers need him especially playing in the tough NFC North division, who is getting better by the year.
If the Packers want to make a move, it has to happen very soon. Other teams are building and they cannot afford to slip behind.
