The Green Bay Packers have been linked to wide receiver DK Metcalf for quite some time now. The star’s desire to be traded coupled with Green Bay’s need at the position makes it an intriguing storyline.
Many have thought that the asking price would be steep for a player like Metcalf. However, one recent report suggests otherwise.
Packers: DK Metcalf’s Asking Price Takes Steep Drop (Report)

There is a lot of discussion about how much compensation is enough for the Seattle Seahawks to truly pull the trigger on trading DK Metcalf to the Green Bay Packers. It was reported by NFL insider Josina Anderson that a team would give up at least a third-round pick for the wide receiver:
This price would be perfect for the Packers. And it doesn’t seem out of reality. In this package, general manager Brian Gutekunst could include the plus, which would be wide receiver Romeo Doubs, keeping their top two draft picks.
The idea of Metcalf being worth only a third-round pick in this case could be questionable, but analyzing the entire situation, it does make sense. While he’s under contract for one more season for a reasonable amount ($18 million), part of the point of Metcalf requesting a trade is that he wants an extension.

The price tag may rise depending on how many teams are interested and willing to spend more assests on Metcalf. In this case, a second-rounder as well as Doubs could still be considered a viable compensation.
Currently, the Packers are on the lookout for wide receivers, edge rushers, and cornerbacks. The defense will immediately become the priority in free agency if they can trade for DK Metcalf.
