The Green Bay Packers look to be headed for 2-2 under Jordan Love when it comes to reaching the playoffs. In Love’s second full season under center he had led Green Bay to a 10-4 record and one win away from a playoff berth.
Davante Adams is paying attention.
Former Packers Star Davante Adams Makes Big Announcement Regarding Former Team
A few years have passed since Davante Adams played for the Green Bay Packers.
Since Adams was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022 at his request, it’s clear he appreciates what he had for his first eight years of arguably a Hall of Fame career:
“I got a lot of respect for the front office over there and obviously all the players that contributed,” Adams said Tuesday to Kay Adams on her “Up & Adams” show on FanDuel TV.
The Packers reloaded at wide receiver in recent years by getting younger, revamped the running back room as they moved on from Aaron Jones in favor of Josh Jacobs and, of course, they started over at quarterback with Jordan Love after trading Aaron Rodgers in 2023.
“Winning organizations, you learn how to figure it out,” Adams said. “They were good before I got there and they’ll be long after I’m gone. Says about their ability to bring the right guys in.”
It’s worked out for the Packers, who are closing in on their second straight playoff berth.
“They’re Super Bowl contenders, for sure,” Adams said. “… Once they get everything rolling that’s going to be tough for anyone to mess with them heading into the playoffs. So, it’s exciting to watch.”
Adams acknowledged Love’s steadiness and overcoming a rough start to the season, similar to what he did in 2023.
“The way they’re playing, the way Jordan’s played, the way he’s battled through adversity,” Adams said.
Adams applauded Love for his performance last year during an appearance on Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby’s podcast during the offseason . On Tuesday, he called the 26-year-old “the coolest quarterback in the game.”
“You can see that whenever he makes a mistake he doesn’t look too rattled,” Adams said. “That’s what you need out of a quarterback. With that supporting cast it’s going to make it pretty easy (to win).”
Here is a look at Adams’ stats so far this season:
