The Green Bay Packers are going to be active in the trade market once again this year. Each of the last three off-seasons we have seen major changes take place within this team. 2025 will be no different.
However, one star wide receiver who has been linked to Green Bay for quite some time, is officially off the table.
Breaking: Packers See Wide Receiver Target Sign Massive 3-Year Deal (Report)

According to multiple sources:
Chris Godwin agrees to new deal with Bucs: Report
Chris Godwin is staying in Tampa Bay, after all. The veteran wide receiver has agreed to a three-year, $66 million contract with the Buccaneers with $44 million guaranteed, The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reports.
This is crushing news for the Patriots, who were expected to prioritize Godwin in free agency. The list of free agent receivers drops off precipitously from a talent perspective after Godwin.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, New England was “very interested” in Godwin and put “a lot of pressure” on the Bucs, but the 29-year-old wideout “did not want to leave Tampa,” where he’s spent his entire NFL career to date.

Green Bay had been previously linked to Godwin on numerous outlets. Forbes had Godwin as Green Bay’s number one
1. Chris Godwin, Tampa Bay, WR
Forget all this Davante Adams talk. The former Packer receiver will turn 33 this season. And more sequels turn out like ‘Caddyshack II’ than ‘The Godfather Part II.’
The 29-year-old Godwin is three years, 2 months younger than Adams — a lifetime in NFL years. And while Godwin is coming off a dislocated ankle, he’s traditionally been extremely healthy, playing in at least 14 games six of his first seven seasons.
DK Metcalf was traded to Pittsburgh, Chris Godwin is staying put, Deebo Samuel was traded to the Commanders. It will be interesting to see where this leaves Green Bay when it comes to adding a weapon or two for Jordan Love.
