The Green Bay Packers made the tough decision to trade four-time MVP quarterback to the New York Jets just a few days before the 2023 NFL Draft. As the years have passed, that decision has looked better and better.
While injuries has obviously played a role, New York has had back to back losing seasons with Rodgers on their roster. Green Bay has made the playoffs both years.
If New York decides to move on from Rodgers, his next team is sky rocketing up the leader boards.
“Odds Exploded” Packers Fans Destroy Aaron Rodgers’ New Betting Favorite In 2025
It wasn’t long ago that Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers looked like he wouldn’t be able to find work in 2025. Recent games have seen him improve, for the most part. (That said, Sunday’s performance at Buffalo was not great.)
His performance could entice the Pittsburgh Steelers to make a call:
At the same time, the Steelers have lost three in a row with Russell Wilson as the starter.
When Pittsburgh added Wilson and Justin Fields in the offseason, many believed that one would emerge as the starter after 2024. With both on expiring contracts, there’s always been a chance neither will be back.
If/when Rodgers is released by the Jets, why wouldn’t the Steelers consider adding him? Several years ago, Rodgers and Steelers coach Mike Tomlin exchanged playful glances. That made Rodgers a consideration for the Steelers when he left Green Bay.
At the time, the Steelers were entering their second season with Kenny Pickett. Entering 2025, the planets could line up to bring Rodgers to Pittsburgh.
He needs to retire, too washed up in his career at this point.

Would rather go 0-17 with the QB’s we have now than bring him in.
