Jordan Love’s teammate gave him a lot of grief after the fourth-year quarterback threw an interception near the start of Monday’s Green Bay Packers practice team period. It probably won’t be the last time.
Love has had an up-and-down training camp so far. The first-team offense has struggled against the first-team defense during competition periods. General manager Brian Gutekunst said last week that it was hard to gauge where Love was at because the defense performed similarly during the Packers’ previous training camp.
A Green Bay Packers teammate gives Jordan Love fits

The defense isn’t taking their foot off the gas this week. According to reports by Rob Demovsky, Matt Schneidman, and Ryan Wood, Darnell Savage intercepted a pass from Love early in practice and ran it back for a touchdown. Cornerback Jaire Alexander talked trash to Love after the play. Wood’s reported version of Alexander’s word choice seems much kinder than what Schneidman heard.
Jordan Love targets Romeo Doubs on a slant route to start term periods, and Darnell Savage undercuts it for an easy pick. Jaire Alexander tells the QB to wake up, loud enough for everyone to hear. It’s a Monday even in camp.

First play of team period: Darnell Savage jumps Romeo Doubs’ route and turns it into a Pick-6.
Let’s just say Jaire Alexander let Love know about it.

Love needs to take Alexander’s advice seriously before week one.
Alexander and Love have a good relationship, but Alexander will chirp at anyone during practice. Love needs to use Alexander’s words as motivation to get better. Alexander might be trying to set the tone in practice, but conversations in the Packers locker room could be more serious if Love starts throwing pick six’s during games.
