For the second year in a row, the Green Bay Packers selected three wide receivers in the NFL Draft. Of course, Jayden Reed is the most hyped of these three, being a second round draft pick. Dontayvion Wicks was taken in the fifth round and Grant DuBose taken in the seventh.
DuBose has been out for the majority of the offseason activities and training camp with a back injury. It has also been reported over the last few days the Wicks has been unable to practice since Thursday.
Green Bay Packers Rookie Wide Receiver Dontayvion Wicks Suffered a Concussion on Thursday
On Thursday, Wicks took a “hit” from Green Bay defender Innis Gaines. While the players are not in pads and not playing full contact, the knock was enough to put Wicks into concussion protocol.

Dontayvion Wicks just walked to the side with a trainer. Not sure if it was the “hit” he took over the middle from Gaines on the throw from McGough. Hopefully he’s ok.

However, it seems as if Wicks is coming along in the protocol as he was able to watch practice yesterday:

Last year for Virginia, Wicks appeared in just eight games, putting up 30 receptions for 430 years and two touchdowns. However, in 2021, he played in 12 games, hauling in 57 receptions for 1,203 yards and nine touchdowns.
Hopefully he is not out long and can continue to make a case for the 53-man roster. Packers reporter Andy Herman has posted high praise of Wicks in the early days of camp:

Wicks will be competing with DuBose (if he gets healthy), Bo Melton, and Malik Heath for a fifth or sixth wide receiver role.
