NBA News: The Milwaukee Bucks are headed into an interesting 2023 NBA season. After an earlier-than-expected exit from the 2023 NBA playoffs, the Bucks decided to take their organization in a new direction. Adrian Griffin is the new head coach for Milwaukee and expectations remain at an all-time high. After Bradley Beal was dealt to the Phoenix Suns, the Bucks will have to focus elsewhere to add to their roster. As it turns out, there are two names floating around that could drastically help Milwaukee in 2023-24.
Milwaukee Bucks Linked To Gary Harris And Kelly Oubre Jr.
Although it’s been reported that the Bucks want to bring back both Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez next season, they could still find enough flexibility to bring in some high-quality role players, like Harris. Fransisco Rosa went on to say:
Entering the final season of his contract with the Magic, that is non-guaranteed as well, Harris fits the three-and-D mold that can be exactly what the Bucks need to get back to their best after having to implement Grayson Allen into the starting lineup in the postseason.
Harris, 28, once again proved that he was one of the elite shooters in the NBA, knocking down 43.1 percent of his shots from three-point range, a career-high after a rough few seasons. He’s also still one of the stronger perimeter defenders in the league.
It shouldn’t be too hard to land a deal given Harris’ contract and how his minutes dwindled a bit on a young, talented Magic team.
Putting good shooters and defenders around Antetokounmpo will always be a formula for success.
Kelly Oubre Jr.:
Set to become a free agent after a couple of strong seasons with the Hornets, Oubre is another good potential piece to add to the Bucks’ rotation.
Milwaukee previously had interest in the 27-year-old when he last was a free agent, per SNY’s Ian Begley. This might be the perfect time to reignite that interest.
Oubre is coming off arguably the best season of his career as he averaged 20.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. And at 6-foot-7, he has the length and versatility to guard multiple positions.
While his shooting may not be as strong as other candidates, he could do a decent job of carrying the scoring for the Bucks’ second unit next year.
Could The Milwaukee Bucks Add Either Of These Two Players?
Kelly Oubre Jr. will certainly be an attractive player in NBA free agency this offseason. The former first-round pick is coming off a solid season for the Charlotte Hornets, averaging a career-high 20.4 points while playing 32.3 minutes per game. After two seasons in Charlotte, Oubre is set to hit unrestricted free agency this summer. Milwaukee would certainly be an attractive destination as they have championship aspirations, however, it may be tough to compete with the open market.
Gary Harris had a successful 2022-23 campaign for the Orlando Magic as the starting unit’s offensive safety valve at shooting guard. He regained his value as a reliable three-point shooter and above-average wing defender through 48 games. His $13 million contract for 2023-24 is completely non-guaranteed, meaning the Magic could waive him at any time to collect the extra cap space. If is winds up moving on from the Magic this off-season, the Bucks should certainly take a look.

Harris is overrated and doesn’t offer all that much beyond shooting.
Oubre is vastly underrated, but Marjon will probably develop along the same lines and be just as good.
I’d rather have one of the Bogdanovics.
