The Milwaukee Bucks are 26-20 heading into their Sunday night matchup with the Memphis Grizzlies, who are 32-16. While Milwaukee’s record may not seem all that impressive at the moment, it is important to consider that they started the year 2-8, a stretch that included a six-game losing streak. Since their first 10 games, the Bucks are 24-12, but have lost two games in a row at the tail end of their four-game West Coast swing.
Early in the season, trade rumors involving the Bucks swirled due to their slow start. Many analysts and fans from other NBA markets proposed trades involving Giannis Antetokounmpo or Damian Lillard going to other teams. Since they started winning more frequently, though, these trade scenarios have started to involve other players like Khris Middleton, Pat Connaughton, and Bobby Portis.
With the trade deadline just a few days away, there is little doubt that Bucks general manager Jon Horst is trying to get some kind of deal done to improve his team, and it appears that he has his eye on a division rival.
The Milwaukee Bucks Are the Betting Favorite to Land Chicago Bulls Star Zach LaVine in a Trade
As reported earlier, the Bucks have shown significant interest in trading for Chicago Bulls two-time All-Star forward Zach LaVine.
So far this season, LaVine is averaging 24.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game while shooting 51/45/80 from the floor.
Since he is making $43 million a season on average, the Bucks would need to trade Middleton and his $31 million annual salary, along with another player (and possibly a draft pick) to the Bulls to make it work. Additionally, another team would likely need to get involved to take on Connaughton’s contract to help the Bucks get under the second apron.
Per on NBA analyst, odds-makers believe this exact scenario has a decent chance of happening.
