Blame it on the weather is what Doc Rivers is trying to say about his Milwaukee Bucks as they face the Miami Heat.
The Bucks are back in Wisconsin after battling a heavy snow storm in New Orleans which led to the postponement of their game against the Pelicans.
The team flew early for their visit to Zion Williamson and the rest of Pelicans but the bad weather forced NBA officials to postpone the match. Still, that does not mean more rest for the Bucks.
According to The Athletic, the team, vying to stretch their winning streak, had to wait for around half a day to be able to fly back to Milwaukee, resulting to their shortened preparation for the game against the Heat.
Tipoff was moved to 7:30 p.m. CT but that does not offset the lack of locomotive activities they need.
“Not having done any cardio for three days and then showing up for a game two hours before the game off an airplane, my guess is our science team would probably say this is not the healthiest thing to do,” Rivers said hours before the game as quoted by Eric Nehm.
Milwaukee Bucks’ series of inconvenience
Bucks were scheduled to fly out of New Orleans at 2 p.m. and arrive at their hometown around 4 p.m.
The short room for preparation prevented the team from getting ready.
Despite that, Doc Rivers told reporters that their preference was playing tonight’s game with the unusual circumstances because finding a place to reschedule two games in their post-ASB schedule would have been nearly impossible. https://t.co/TEf7mtYDFB

Middleton is supposed to play against the Heat since the Pelicans game is a scheduled rest for him as part of the continuing rehab of his bilateral ankle surgery. However, due to the circumstances, he is no longer available to play.
Rivers said his players were only able to do mandatory lifting twice and that they were not allowed to leave their hotel rooms.
