The Milwaukee Bucks already know what their 2024-25 NBA season schedule is. They will be facing the Philadelphia 76ers on October 23 for their season-opener and from there, Milwaukee will go through 81 more games to determine whether they’d make the playoffs or not. Chances are the Bucks will be back in the postseason after a letdown early exit from the playoffs in the last season.
Even for a talented team like the Bucks, there will be stretches on their schedule that they can be wary of. Eric Nehm of The Athletic took a look at Milwaukee’s schedule and identified a particular stretch that could pose problems for the team.
One of the toughest parts of each season is the time between the halfway point of the season (the 41st game) and the All-Star Break, which ends up being the 54th game for the Bucks this season. This season, nine of those 13 games for the Bucks will be on the road. On top of that, all four home games will be part of a back-to-back in some way, which means there is a real possibility the Bucks will spend just seven of the 22 days leading up to the All-Star break sleeping in their own beds.
The final road-heavy stretch to worry about will be the Bucks’ longest road trip of the season, a five-game western trip near the end of March. Starting March 18 in Los Angeles, the Bucks will play the L.A. Lakers, Golden State Warriors, Sacramento Kings, Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets across in 10 days. Before embarking on that trip, the Bucks have seven straight games against playoff teams from last season, which will make for a difficult March.
Regardless of the strength of their schedule and those aforementioned stretches, the Bucks are expected to win a lot of games. With Damian Lillard, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and a solid supporting cast, Milwaukee should be able to handle its schedule.
Last season, the Bucks regressed and won nine fewer games (49-33) than what they had in the 2022-23 campaign (58-24).
