Much of the Milwaukee Bucks news today is about Khris Middleton’s return but that doesn’t mean the scrutiny of the bench will die down.
The bench was again subjected to intense criticism after they lost to the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday. Common names being thrown around on trade rumors are Bobby Portis and Pat Connaughton but it is another player whose chances of departing Fiserv is higher.
Marjon Beauchamp, the 24th overall pick of 2022, is the person who is on trade block, according to Hoops Hype’s Michael Scotto. He wrote:
24-year-old wing Marjon Beauchamp had his rookie-scale team option declined for next season and has seen his role significantly reduced this season, making him a prime candidate to be traded, league sources told HoopsHype.
Beauchamp has fallen out of favor in coach Doc Rivers’ rotation this season as he was overtook by Andre Jackson Jr. and AJ Green.
The team also acquired wing players in the offseason through Gary Trent Jr. and Taurean Prince making him go deeper in the bench depth.
Who should the Milwaukee Bucks target for trade?
The Bucks are still invested on their Big 3 with Middleton returning as an instant offense as he has been their third best offensive player over the years.
According to rumors, they are looking for players who can play defense and be an instant offense whenever their main role players are having an off night.
Among the names being linked to the team is Cam Thomas who at the end of November was reportedly made available by the Brooklyn Nets for trade.
However, he got injured and teams decided not to pursue.
Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report also linked the Bucks to Houston Rockets bruiser Dillon Brooks.
“Brooks brings the edge that this soft Bucks defense (112.6 rating) has lacked and is a good enough shooter (36.1 percent from three) to keep the floor open.”
The only issue here is his $86 million worth.
The Bucks will continue to scour the market for a trade that can improve the team. Right now, Beauchamp can only hope that he will land with a team where he will get more opportunities.
