The Milwaukee Bucks will be playing on Christmas Day again this year. This is going to be the sixth year in a row that Giannis Antetokounmpo and Co. will be in action on December 25, and it will also be the second straight year that they play away from home.
Last season, the Bucks lost out to the Boston Celtics at the TD Garden on Christmas Day. They will now be looking to reverse their fortune when they head on over to the Madison Square Garden to battle the New York Knicks on Monday.
Milwaukee Bucks’ Pat Connaughton Highlights Silver Lining of Christmas Day Game Vs. Knicks
It’s not easy being away from home during the holiday season, especially considering the fact that this is supposed to be the jolliest time of the year. Such is the price of being an NBA player, though, which is going to be the case for the Bucks this Christmas.
Milwaukee swingman Pat Connaughton understands that this is all part of the territory. In fact, he’s decided to higlight the silver lining of their Christmas Day game by hyping up their upcoming Eastern Conference showdown against the Knicks:
“Aside from home, there’s no place like New York on Christmas, right?” Connaughton said. “Christmas Day is a huge day for the NBA. We’re fortunate to be a good team that gets to play on Christmas. We have a few guys that people want to watch on Christmas, right?
“So to be able to look at it from a positive standpoint of, hey, it’s not about not being able to be home in the comfort of your own house, but it’s about getting the ability to play on Christmas. Not many people can say that.”
I see no lies here.
Malik Beasley Reveals Christmas Day Plans
Malik Beasley echoed his teammate’s sentiments. Beasley revealed, however, that he intends to bring his family with him to New York for what should be a unique experience for them in The Big Apple.
“We’re playing on Christmas Day, so it’s a blessing,” Beasley said. “I’m gonna get a fake Christmas tree put up in my room. The family is coming with us. We’re gonna have that Christmas spirit. Play the game, and then come back and open presents.”

You can be sure that the players aren’t taking their eyes off the prize, though. At the end of the day, the most important thing is to secure a win.
