MLB Winter Meetings have officially begun and the rumor mill is hot. The Milwaukee Brewers are one team currently being discussed as they reportedly are one organization still in talks with the Chicago White Sox regarding a potential trade involving Garrett Crochet. Trade rumors surrounding left-handed pitcher Garrett Crochet have persisted since last summer, but a deal has yet to materialize due to the White Sox’s high asking price and Crochet’s reported request for a contract extension upon being traded. However, this could all change at this year’s Winter Meetings.
A few Garrett Crochet trade proposals have already not materialized
MLB insider Bob Nightengale reported in a pre-Winter Meetings article that several trade proposals involving Garrett Crochet have already been discussed. The White Sox reportedly rejected an offer from the Philadelphia Phillies that included Alec Bohm and Justin Crawford. Additionally, when Chicago attempted to negotiate a deal, the San Diego Padres deemed top prospects Ethan Salas and Leodalis De Vries as unavailable.

According to a source, the White Sox are seeking high-ceiling prospects who are a few years away from the big leagues. Milwaukee Brewers prospects Jesus Made, Jacob Misiorowski, Cooper Pratt, Eric Bitonti, and Bishop Letson have all been mentioned in trade talks, with Chicago reportedly showing interest in Made. The Brewers may be reluctant to part with Made, Misiorowski, or Pratt, which may make the White Sox’s asking price for Garrett Crochet too steep for Milwaukee to consider.
