Sunday night’s Game 1 showdown between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Indiana Pacers was billed as a battle between two of the top point guards in the game today. Damian Lillard lived up to his part of the deal with a 35-point explosion in his first-ever playoff game for Milwaukee.
The same cannot be said about Tyrese Haliburton.

To say that Lillard completely outshined Haliburton in this one would be an understatement. While Lillard finished with a game-high 35 points on 11-of-24 shooting, six rebounds, three assists, and six triples in 38 minutes of action, the Pacers had to settle for a mediocre performance from their superstar.
Haliburton logged just nine points, seven rebounds, and eight assists in 38 minutes, while also taking just seven shots throughout the game. Simply put, that’s just not going to cut it for Indiana, regardless if Giannis Antetokounmpo is playing or not.

It goes without saying that Haliburton will need to come out with a much better performance in Game 2 on Tuesday.
