It’s no secret All-Star Damian Lillard is passionate about boxing. The thing is, there’s one Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight the Milwaukee Bucks point guard would love to watch right away.
Back in the past, Lillard shared how the sport has significantly influenced his life and career. The Bucks star revealed that he has always admired boxing, not just for its athleticism but for the discipline and mental toughness it requires. He has drawn parallels between boxing and basketball, particularly in terms of focus, strategy, and the need for a strong mindset.
Lillard’s love for boxing goes beyond mere fandom; he has actively trained and incorporated boxing workouts into his fitness routine. He believed that boxing helps him sharpen his reflexes and improve his footwork, which are essential skills on the basketball court. The All-Star point guard has even mentioned how boxing has allowed him to channel his competitive spirit in a different environment, providing an outlet for stress and enhancing his overall athletic performance.
The NBA star’s admiration for boxing legends, such as Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson, further showcases his appreciation for the sport. He often reflects on the mental battles fighters face, drawing inspiration from their resilience and determination. Lillard’s commitment to boxing not only enriches his personal fitness regimen but also serves as a reminder of the importance of diverse training methods in sports.

Back in 2023, Mayweather and Broner sparked interest in a potential exhibition match following the latter’s struggles in the ring. Broner expressed his willingness to fight Mayweather, suggesting that an exhibition could be mutually beneficial, both financially and for entertainment. However, that bout hasn’t materialized up to now.
It remains to be seen whether the two fighters can make it happen sooner than later. If they do, expect the point guard to get tickets and be there no matter what.
