The Milwaukee Bucks expect big things from incoming second-year shooting guard Andre Jackson Jr. this coming season. The 22-year-old is coming off a rather pedestrian rookie campaign, but he is expected to have a more impactful year in 2024-25.
Unfortunately, Jackson’s bounceback season got off to a rough start after the 6-foot-6 two-guard suffered a brutal injury during Milwaukee’s NBA Summer League stint — one that forced Jackson to go under the knife.
Milwaukee Bucks News: Andre Jackson Jr. Undergoes Successful Surgery
Jackson suffered a hand injury during last Tuesday’s Summer League loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. Apparently, the issue required surgery which, fortunately, went on without a hitch.
The Bucks officially announced Jackson’s post-surgery status on X, formerly Twitter, on Friday.
“Medical Update: Andre Jackson Jr. underwent successful surgery today to repair a fracture of his left third finger that occurred in Tuesday’s Summer League game vs. the Clippers.
“Jackson Jr. is expected to be at full participation in training camp,” read the tweet.

Despite having to undergo surgery to repair a fractured finger in his left hand, the silver lining here is that he is expected to make a full recovery in time for the start of training camp.
Camp won’t start until at least another two months, which gives Jackson ample time to rehab his surgically repaired finger. Despite this setback, it appears that Jackson is still on track for what the Bucks are hoping will be a breakout year for the former UConn star.
