The Milwaukee Bucks stretched their winning streak to five straight games after securing a 125-96 victory against the Miami Heat on Thursday night.
Damian Lillard led the Milwaukee Bucks by dropping 29 points, nine rebounds, 11 assists, two steals, and five three-pointers on 9-for-21 shooting from the field. Co-star Giannis Antetokounmpo added 25 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, and three blocks on 10-for-18 shooting from the field.
Brook Lopez was the other starter who scored double-digit points, recording 11 points, four rebounds, and three blocks. Gary Trent Jr. and Bobby Portis added 21 and 16 points off the bench.
The Milwaukee Bucks overcame a 15-point first-quarter deficit to rout the Miami Heat, and the win capped off one of the most unusual travel experiences of the NBA season.
Milwaukee Bucks’ Damian Lillard “protests” missing out on a triple-double
A moment of confusion came during the final period, as it was revealed that Damian Lillard recorded his first triple-double with the Milwaukee Bucks. However, his 10th rebound was given to Brook Lopez instead. Otherwise, he would’ve been the first Milwaukee Bucks guard to hit the statistical feat since Eric Bledsoe in 2019.
“I was just, like, ‘Y’all got to get that rebound back for me,'” Lillard said via Ben Steele of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “Because I went up there, me and Brook both had our hands on it, but I came down with it.
“I can see if he had got to it first, and he tried to give it to me. But I had two hands on the ball. We landed and I wasn’t letting go. He let go, so I feel like that should be given to me,” he added.
