Renowned NBA insider Chris Haynes just revealed that the Milwaukee Bucks plan to remove Khris Middleton from the starting lineup to bring him off the bench in the foreseeable future.
According to Haynes’ report, Doc Rivers came to this decision to “find continuity” in the starting lineup while managing Middleton’s minutes since the three-time NBA All-Star missed a chunk of the beginning of the 2024-25 regular season due to an offseason ankle surgery.
“Doc Rivers met with Khris (Middleton) Sunday in Toronto and shared the news with him. Doc is trying to find a level of continuity with the starting group while also managing the minutes of Khris Middleton, who is still under minutes restriction,” Haynes reported.
“Khris is still trying to work himself into form after having double ankle surgery. He missed last game in Toronto due to tendinitis in the ankle,” he added.
Khris Middleton for the Milwaukee Bucks so far this season
Khris Middleton averages 12.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 5.0 assists on 45/40/85 shooting splits in 12 appearances this season (seven starts).
As Chris Haynes mentioned, the former no. 39 pick was absent in the team’s blowout win over the Toronto Raptors due to injury management. However, he is upgraded with the probable label against the San Antonio Spurs.
With Middleton in the second unit, Taurean Prince will remain in the starting lineup. Prince averages 7.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.9 assists on 45/45/72 shooting splits in 34 appearances (27 starts) this season.
