There’s a bunch of new faces for the Milwaukee Bucks heading into the 2023-24 season. Damian Lillard is obviously the most significant addition to the team during the offseason but at the same time, we can’t overlook the arrival of new head coach Adrian Griffin as well as the pivotal role he’s going to be playing for this team this year.
Khris Middleton Comments on New Milwaukee Bucks Head Coach

In a recent interview with Eric Nehm of The Athletic, Bucks star Khris Middleton provided some insight on Griffin’s newly formed regime in Milwaukee. Middleton had nothing but praise for his new head coach as Griffin transitions into what could easily be the most high-pressure job in the NBA this season:
“I think I’ve had five or six head coaches, so change, I am used to it in some ways just with the different lingo, philosophies, different things like that. But the transition has been smooth,” Middleton said. “These guys have been great getting everything out of everybody here in the gym, which is great to see. Competitive practices, (how we) want to be great, attention to detail, things like that.”
Middleton isn’t the only player who’s given Griffin their full support. Giannis Antetokounmpo, among others, also had a lot of good things to say about his new coach.

There’s clearly going to be a lot of pressure on Coach Griff to perform in his debut season, so it’s good to hear that his players are backing him from the get-go.
Khris Middleton is All-In

According to Middleton, one of the cornerstones of Griffin’s early success is his ability to communicate with his players. Middleton could not help to compare his new coach to ex-shot-caller Jason Kidd, who sat at the helm in Milwaukee between 2014 and 2018:
“It’s different when you have a coach like we had with J-Kidd (Jason Kidd) that played the game. They see things a little bit differently,” Middleton said. “(Griffin) is able to point those things out quickly. We know what to expect from him, and I think that’s what makes it easy and a smooth transition when you have a coach that lets you know what he wants out of the practice each day and how hard he wants you to go and what we’re going to get out of it. It’s been great just to learn and see how they do things.”
Middleton has completely bought in on what Griffin is trying to do, and it appears that the rest of the squad has done the same as well.
