For the first time since opening night, the Milwaukee Bucks are over .500. On Saturday, Milwaukee survived a thriller against the Washington Wizards, 124-114, shooting 51% from the field and extending their winning streak to six games. The Bucks received Herculean efforts from their star tandem, with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard combining for 67 points, 17 rebounds, and 21 assists. However, Antetokounmpo had a record-setting performance, posting his third triple-double of the season and second in his last three games.
One of the most complete basketball players in the NBA, Antetokounmpo continues to refine his scoring, passing, and rebounding prowess, as evidenced by Saturday’s triple-double. With 42 points. 12 rebound, 11 assist effort, Antetokounmpo tied three Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famers for specific triple-double marks.

In his 17th game of the regular season, Milwaukee Bucks superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded his 47th triple-double. Antetokounmpo tied 13x All-Star and 7x scoring champ Wilt Chamberlain for most 30-point triple-doubles in the effort. Antetokounmpo posted a 42-point triple-double in Saturday’s win. The Greek Freak also tied NBA great Michael Jordan for most 35-point triple-doubles. Lastly, Antetokounmpo tied the former modern-day king of triple-doubles, Magic Johnson, for the most 40-point triple-doubles.
Last season, Antetokounmpo set a new career mark with triple-doubles in a season with ten. An eight-time All-Star and two-time MVP, Antetokounmpo entered Saturday leading the league with 32.4 points per game. He is also averaging 11.9 rebounds and 6.4 assists.
Milwaukee Bucks Looking For Continued Consistency
With the help of Giannis Antetokounmpo’s epic 42-point triple-double, the Milwaukee Bucks pulled off their sixth-straight victory. They have also won eight of their last ten. Following a win in the regular season opener against the Philadelphia 76ers, Milwaukee lost six in a row and eight of their next nine games. However, they have bounced back nicely, winning six straight, including a 124-114 win against the Wizards on Saturday. They also beat the Houston Rockets, Chicago Bulls, Indiana Pacers, Charlotte Hornets, and Miami Heat during that span.
Milwaukee will enjoy the next two days off before visiting the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday. They will have a quick turnaround, facing the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday at home before departing on a three-game road trip.
