The Milwaukee Bucks are struggling these days with their big man being out. While that is happening, their former back up center just had the game of his life.

Sandro Mamukelashvili, picked 54th overall by the Bucks in 2021, set an NBA record on Wednesday as he posted the highest point total in the few minutes in the San Antonio Spurs’ win against Milwaukee rivals New York Knicks.
The Georgian forward scored 34 points in their 120-105 win against the Knicks. He did that in just five minutes as a back up to Jeremy Sochan.
According to House of Highlights, those are the most points scored by a player in under 20 minutes. He played for exactly 19 minutes and 26 seconds.

The numbers he posted are almost unbelievable. He did not miss any of his seven attempts from the three point line. He finished the game 13 out of 14 from the field. He posted the highest +/- minus in the game with 22.
Aside from points, he also recorded seven rebounds and three assists.
His previous career high is 28 points in 2022 when he was still part of the Bucks.

Mamu is an instant hero in San Antonio. Even his start teammate De’Aaron Fox can’t help it.

Mamukelashvili’s big game came at a time when his family is in the stands to witness him play.

“It felt amazing. Thank you to my teammates, coaching staff for trusting me. I’m so excited. My family is here. . . . It’s an unbelievable night. Thank you everybody for coming out,” he told the courtside reporter post-game.
Mamukelashvili played two seasons with the Bucks but was let go by the 2023-2024 season.
His career game came at a time when the Spurs need reinforcement down low after the season-ending injury to Victor Wembanyama.
