Besides getting Kyle Kuzma and Jericho Sims in a three-team deal with the Washington Wizards and the New York Knicks, the Milwaukee Bucks also acquired Kevin Porter Jr. from the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for MarJon Beauchamp.

Not everyone from Milwaukee liked the trade because of Porter’s off-court issues, as the USC product was arrested in 2023 for domestic assault on his ex-girlfriend and WNBA player Kysre Gondrezick.
Porter was out of the NBA because of this, but he found his way back into the league when the Los Angeles Clippers signed him this past offseason.

The 24-year-old combo guard averaged 9.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.2 assists on 42.0 percent shooting from the field in 19.6 minutes per contest (45 regular season appearances) for Los Angeles.
Why the Milwaukee Bucks aren’t “concerned” with Kevin Porter Jr.
Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers was asked if he knew about Kevin Porter Jr.’s past, and the former NBA Coach of the Year didn’t want to delve much into it since he is focused on developing him within the squad.

“He was good with the Clippers. They had no issues with him, but we have to monitor everybody, honestly. He’s still a very young kid. We’re going to give him support. You always say like when these things come up, I have never had a problem with investing in the human spirit,” Rivers said about Porter via Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
“And why should any of us? What he did in the past is the past, but hopefully, you learn from it. I think he has and our job now is to try to not only make him a better player, but a better human being,” he concluded.
