While the All-Star weekend can be a weekend for some to get away from the craziness of basketball, it allows some to create stronger bonds with teammates, and that’s what it looks like happened with Milwaukee Bucks‘ Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
A Fun Weekend for the Milwaukee Bucks All Stars
Both Lillard and Antetokounmpo started for the East squad who came out victorious in a 211-186 victory in Saturday’s contest. Lillard came home with his back-to-back three-point contest win, and was even crowned the All-Star Game Most Valuable Player trophy for his stellar 39-point, 11-three pointers performance. Captain Antetokounmpo were able to spend some time off the court, building their bond.
“When you go somewhere outside of your team with a teammate, you usually naturally turn to each other more, just a lot of conversation,” Lillard said. “I think it was just a positive weekend for us because we just had a lot of interactions.”

Outside of the All-Star game, the duo was able to talk about what they can do to improve not only their individual performances, but the team as they enter the second half of the season.
“We were able to have conversations about where our team has been lately and what we want to do, how we can help each other better,” Lillard shared. “When you can break away from not only the season and have All-Star break, but also break away from the team and be able to just be man-to-man and just bond like that, it’s always helpful.”
Giannis is Dame’s Biggest Fan
Though Damian Lillard has only been with the Milwaukee Bucks for a couple of months, Antetokounmpo has quickly put a lot of faith in Dame being the one to help the team make their turnaround and get back into a good rhythm.
“Good or bad, I ride with Dame until the f–ing end. I ride with Dame,” Giannis said. “Like I’ve been saying this over and over again. This. Is. His. Team. Down the stretch, he’s going to get the ball. There’s nothing else that we will do. I don’t know how else to put it. I don’t know what else to say. But at the end of the day, he has to believe it too.”
Lillard had an amazing performance during the All-Star weekend, showing a promising sign that the second half will bring better luck for the all-star.
