The Milwaukee Bucks will be facing the Chicago Bulls on Monday night. Milwaukee will then not be playing again until Thursday night against the Brooklyn Nets.
Giannis Antetokounmpo will not play on Monday night against Chicago. The Bucks are 15-12 this season in the NBA.
The Milwaukee Bucks Superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo Is Furious That They Are Not Playing On Christmas Day This NBA Season
Giannis Antetokounmpo spoke to The Athletic’s Eric Nehm about the Bucks not playing on Christmas Day this NBA season. In years past, Milwaukee has played on Christmas Day. Antetokounmpo said:
“2 of the NBA All-Star starters… I was the No. 1. Dame was a starter. I was a starter. Dame won the MVP. Dame won the 3-point contest. Maybe that has nothing to do with it. I believe we were one of the best teams in the East last year. Maybe not this year, OK. We don’t get a Christmas game. Why? Because we got a small market? I think there’s an algorithm within the NBA that they choose which team will get the most attention, the most viewership that day.”
Interestingly, he decided to say this. Outside of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, many people thought that the Bucks’s roster was not good. When they started 2-8 this season, many thought they were going to be one of the worst teams in the NBA this season, but Antetokounmpo has climbed them out of that hole.
This NBA season, the games will be the San Antonio Spurs vs the New York Knicks, Minnesota Timberwolves vs Dallas Mavericks, Philadelphia 76ers vs Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers vs Golden State Warriors, and Denver Nuggets vs Phoenix Suns. Philadelphia might be by far the worst team playing on Christmas Day this season and many thought that Paul George and Joel Embiid were going to be healthy for them.

With the Milwaukee Bucks and Giannis Antetokounmpo not playing on Christmas Day this year, hopefully, they will be playing on Christmas Day for the 2025-2026 NBA season. Another team that could argue that they should be playing on Christmas Day like the Milwaukee Bucks are the Cleveland Cavaliers as well.
