Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis recently appeared on FanDuel’s Run It Back podcast to discuss several basketball topics. During the 21-minute interview, the one-time NBA champion gave a shoutout to Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball.
Bobby Portis said he’s a huge fan of LaMelo Ball’s herky-jerky style of play, especially after seeing it firsthand last month when Ball dropped 50 points, five rebounds, 10 assists, and six three-pointers in the 125-119 win for the Milwaukee Bucks.
“I love LaMelo Ball’s game. Bro be hooping like he’s in the park, man. One-leg shots, he’ll be shooting all like it’s crazy!” Portis said. “On the court, I’m like, ‘Dang, bro really sizing that?’ and he hits it like crazy. He went crazy on us, but I like his game, I like his confidence.”
Unfortunately for the Charlotte Hornets, LaMelo Ball has been out for a while due to a calf strain. This season, the former NBA Rookie of the Year is averaging 31.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, 6.9 assists, and 1.1 steals per game on 43 percent shooting from the field.
With LaMelo Ball out, the Charlotte Hornets have only won once in their last six matches, a 113-109 victory over the Indiana Pacers last Sunday.
Bobby Portis played big in the Milwaukee Bucks’ latest win
The Milwaukee Bucks returned to winning ways with a 118-113 result over the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday, which saw Bobby Portis making history.
The 29-year-old forward had 23 points, five rebounds, three blocks, and five three-pointers off the bench. Portis also went 9-for-10 from the field.
According to StatMuse, he became the only player in NBA history to record at least three blocks and five three-pointers while not missing from three-point range in multiple games.
