The Milwaukee Bucks are 17-14 on the season coming off of their incredible comeback victory over the Indiana Pacers on New Year’s Eve. Once down by 19 points in the third quarter, Milwaukee was able to scrap their way back for a 120-112 victory.
After scoring just four points in the first half, Giannis Antetokounmpo had 26 in the second half to end his night with 30 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Khris Middleton had 15 points, six rebounds, and seven assists while Damian Lillard had nine points on what was a rough shooting night.
Gary Trent Jr. and Bobby Portis had 14 points each off the bench, and AJ Green added nine, including some big shots in the second half that contributed to Milwaukee’s late run.
Unfortunately, one of these players will not be available tonight when they take on the Brooklyn Nets.
Milwaukee Bucks Fan Favorite AJ Green Will Not Play vs the Brooklyn Nets
Earlier today, Bucks head coach Doc Rivers told reporters that Giannis and Middleton, who were listed as probable with their lingering injuries (a knee injury for the two-time NBA MVP and coming off of bilateral ankle surgery for Middleton) will play on Thursday night against the Nets.
However, Green, whom fans affectionally call Dairy Bird, is not going to play due to a lumbar contusion.

A lumbar contusion is a bruise to the muscles or tissues in one’s lower back.
Green is averaging 7.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game while shooting 45/44/89 from the field. His 44.2% three-point percentage ranks 10th in the NBA and second on the team.
Taurean Prince is fourth in the league with a 45.6% three-point percentage.
