Not too many folks out there saw this one coming. There’s no denying that Adrian Griffin has been through some rough patches during his tenure as the Milwaukee Bucks head coach, but most of us believed that he had more time to correct his mistakes than he actually had.
Apparently, even Hall of Famer and Los Angeles Lakers icon Magic Johnson was also taken aback by the Bucks’ sudden decision to fire Griffin from his post.
Magic Johnson Calls Out Milwaukee Bucks
Magic took to Twitter to share his honest thoughts on Milwaukee’s decision to part ways with their head coach. The five-time NBA champion did not hold back in calling out the Bucks for what he believes was a bad move:
“I think the Bucks firing former Head Coach Adrian Griffin was a big mistake. It’s not his fault the Bucks traded their best on-ball defender, Jrue Holiday. They are not a good defensive team and are all-around too slow,” Johnson wrote in his tweet.

Magic decided to focus on Milwaukee’s defensive inefficiencies as the factor that ultimately led to Griffin’s untimely exit. In Johnson’s mind, however, Griffin is not completely to blame for the same.
The former 12-time All-Star took a veiled shot at the team by pointing out that they lost their defensive prowess when they decided to trade away Jrue Holiday — a decision that Griffin had nothing to do with.
Magic ended his tweet by reminding the Bucks that not only are they a lackluster team on the defensive side of the ball, but they are also too slow for their own good.
Needless to say, the three-time NBA MVP does not agree with the Bucks’ decision on Adrian Griffin.

Should have kept Bud.
Should have kept Jrue.
Should have traded Pat and Bobby in the off season.
